Green Card Approval through U-2 Visa Grant for Ecuadorian National
We recently received an adjustment of status (green card) approval for the spouse of a U-1 nonimmigrant. Congratulations to our client!
A U visa is a nonimmigrant status available to certain individuals who were the victim of crimes in the United States and who cooperated with law enforcement in the investigation of these crimes. A U visa principal can provide a U visa for their spouse and children derivatives under 21 years of age. After 3 years in U status, one is eligible to apply for an adjustment of status. While getting the initial U visa is dependent on the U-1 principal, for green card purposes, a derivative spouse or child may adjust status to lawful permanent resident independently of the U-1 principal.
