Concurrent Removal of Conditions & Naturalization Approval for Colombian National

We recently received an approval on the same day for an I-751 Removal of Conditions Petition and an N-400 Naturalization for a Colombian national. Congratulations to our client!

If you have a pending I-751 removal of conditions petition based on marriage to a US citizen, you do not need to wait for an approval to file for naturalization (citizenship). If otherwise qualified, you can file two years and nine months after you obtained conditional permanent residence. In this case, the I-751 was still pending and we filed the N-400 at this milestone; five months later, both cases were interviewed and favorably adjudicated at the USCIS Brooklyn Field Office.

We are so happy for our client who studied very hard for the history and civics exam, attending classes weekly at the Brooklyn Public Library. In New York City, the public libraries have classes to prepare both for the English Language and the Civics portions of this examinations. Take advantage of those offerings to best prepare you for the interview.

If you have any questions about marriage based immigration, I have more than a decade of experience helping binational couples navigate from the initial green card through US citizenship. Don’t hesitate to reach out for a consultation at amir@rasoulpourlaw.com.
